Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has nothing but praise for Taylor Swift and how she has navigated the intense public scrutiny surrounding her relationship with Travis Kelce.
Since Swift and Kelce went public with their romance in September 2023, their every move has been dissected by the media, NFL fans, and Swift’s global fanbase. While their relationship has brought record-breaking attention to the NFL, it has also made Swift the target of unwarranted criticism, particularly from rival fanbases.
One of the most notable moments of backlash came during Super Bowl LVIII, when Eagles fans mercilessly booed Swift after she was shown on the jumbotron at Caesars Superdome. Despite being a Philadelphia native and longtime Eagles supporter, Swift found herself on the receiving end of negativity simply for dating Kelce.
Reid Praises Swift’s Poise and Kelce’s Handling of Fame
Speaking with NBC’s Mike Florio and Chris Simms, Reid acknowledged the difficulties that come with the level of attention Swift and Kelce receive, but commended both of them for how they’ve handled it.
“She’s a good girl. She handles that whole thing the right way. That’s a tough deal,” Reid said of Swift. “But she does a great job of handling it. Kelce, I think, does a great job of handling it.”
Reid also emphasized that Swift has seamlessly integrated into the Chiefs’ family, much like the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) of other players.
“She’s part of the team—like the other girlfriends and wives,” Reid continued. “They’re part of it. That’s all part of the process.”

Swift’s Impact on the NFL: A Game-Changer
While some fans may question Swift’s frequent appearances at Chiefs games, her presence has undeniably boosted the NFL’s popularity—especially among younger demographics.
According to a recent Front Office Sports report, Swift has generated an astonishing $992.3 million in revenue for the NFL in under two years. Her appearances at 22 Chiefs games since she began dating Kelce have driven increased ticket sales, merchandise spikes, and surges in TV ratings.
NFL Senior Vice President for Social, Influencer, and Content Marketing Ian Trombetta confirmed that the league has seen a significant rise in social media engagement, particularly among women aged 13 to 24, a demographic that historically had less interest in the NFL.
Super Bowl Disappointment, But No Regrets
Swift was last seen in a VIP suite at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, cheering on Kelce as the Chiefs attempted to pull off an unprecedented three-peat. However, the Eagles crushed Kansas City’s title hopes with a dominant 40-22 victory.
Despite the loss, Swift’s support for Kelce remains unwavering. A source told Page Six that the singer “couldn’t be more proud” of her boyfriend, emphasizing their strong bond despite the season-ending disappointment.
What’s Next for Swift and Kelce?
As Kelce enters the NFL offseason, Swift is preparing to resume the international leg of her Eras Tour, with upcoming stops in Australia, Asia, and Europe. While the two have busy schedules, they’ve proven time and again that they’re committed to making their relationship work.
Meanwhile, with Andy Reid’s backing and the unwavering support of Chiefs Kingdom, Swift is solidifying her place as an honorary member of the team—even if she still has to endure the occasional boos from rival fans.
