New York Jets and New York Giants fans are have made themselves heard this season with the local viewership of both team’s down significantly.
Not only are seats left unfilled inside MetLife Stadium to watch the team play live, but it appears some fans have given up on the team completely with local viewership dropping 29 per cent for the Jets and 30 per cent for the Giants, via John Ourand of Puck.
The Jets are averaging 578,000 homes in the local market, while the Giants are at 523,000 homes amid both team’s struggling hugely.

Shockingly, neither team has won at MetLife Stadium this season with the Giants currently riding a 10-game losing streak with both teams set for losing record once again and top 10 NFL Draft picks.
Both the Jets and the Giants are likely to be looking for new general managers, head coaches and quarterbacks in what will be another offseason of rebuilding with neither time anywhere close to competing for a Super Bowl.
The Jets have already fired general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh this season, with reports continuing to swirl that Rodgers will be cut this offseason. Rodgers had openly laughed about the idea that he’d be cut by Jets’ owner Woody Johnson, with reports emerging that his teenage sons have begun to have a say in roster decisions.
If he is cut, the veteran will then make a decision on his future, recently stating: “I’m going to take some time after the year, unless I get released right away. But I’ll still take some time [to determine] whether I want to play.”
Rodgers could even be a shock candidate for the Giants, who cut their quarterback Daniel Jones this season despite handing him a four-year, $160 million contract just 18 months ago – eating a significant amount of dead cap space to do so.
Head coach Brian Daboll might have a tough sell to ownership to keep his job after another disappointing season, with general manager Joe Schoen likely to be axed after failing to land one of the six quarterback’s taken in the 2024 draft – all six now starting and impressing as rookies.
