Jake Paul is riding cloud nine after his win over Mike Tyson in a Netflix-streamed spectacle last November, and he’s already prepared to issue his next challenge. In true controversial Jake Paul fashion, the YouTuber-turned-boxer dropped a photoshopped “waiting line” poster featuring ten potential opponents, ranging from elite champions to social media stars, as he eyes his next big payday.
In the post, Paul posed with a Most Valuable Promotions oversized bag stuffed with cash, implying he’s the ultimate draw for anyone daring to step in the ring. The image included some of boxing’s most dangerous punchers, like three-division world champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis, lightweight star Ryan Garcia, and current heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. Paul also called out unified light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev, signaling his ambitions to step in the ring with the most legit competition.
The logistics behind some of the matchups seem incredibly unrealistic. Paul is a cruiserweight who fights north of 220 pounds and would have an advantage of up to 80+ pounds on Davis [135-140 pounds] and Garcia [140 pounds], making the fights nearly impossible and, at best, unfair. Dubois and Beterbiev are already locked into title defenses on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, against Joseph Parker and Dmitry Bivol.
Paul didn’t stop at traditional boxers and also listed UFC superstars Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, and reigning light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. The “Problem Child,” now known as “El Gallo de Dorado,” has been attempting a fight with McGregor for years, and while the Irish MMA icon has dismissed the idea, the matchup could draw pay-per-view numbers appealing to both parties.
Paul already holds a win over the former UFC brash personality, securing a unanimous decision in their boxing bout last year. Paul has still hinted he’d be open to a rematch, believing theres still money to be made. Pereira is known for his devastating power in kickboxing and MMA and has yet to transition to influencer boxing. He remains one of the UFC’s most popular fighters, with over 6 million followers across social platforms.
The final set of names includes some familiar faces from the current landscape of the exhibition circuit, including Tommy Fury, KSI, and undefeated Hall of Famer Floyd Mayweather Jr. Pauls only career loss came against Fury in a split decision last year, and he’s been vocal about wanting revenge. Fury has expressed interest in running it back after boxing fans pressed him for ‘ducking’ the chance to earn a definitive victory.
Jake Paul has been stirring the pot since his brother Logan faced Mayweather in an exhibition fight in 2021. That fight reportedly sold over a million pay-per-views, and the hype surrounding a Jake vs. Floyd showdown suggests it could surpass even that. The overwhelmingly reoccurring response in the comment section indicates fans prefer a rematch with Fury or a matchup with KSI the most.
