Bryson DeChambeau has teased fans that he will feature alongside Adam Sandler in the eagerly-anticipated sequel of Happy Gilmore, which will be released on Netflix in 2025.
The trailer for Happy Gilmore 2 was released by Sandler on Christmas Day with some of the faces from the original 1996 film set to feature again. In the trailer, Sandler was seen sharing a kiss with Happy’s girlfriend Virginia Venit, played by Modern Family star Julie Bowen.
Also included was Happy’s long-time rival Shooter McGavin played by Christopher McDonald, with the trailer teasing that their feud will be reignited in the sequel almost 30 years on.
There was also a cameo appearance by Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, who appears to be playing a waiter in the Netflix film. Sandler only provided fans with a 30-second snippet on social media of what they can expect, along with the caption: “Happy Chanukah! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! And Happy Gilmore to all!!!!!!”
The excitement around the movie was then only heightened when U.S. Open champion DeChambeau shared the trailer release across his X and Instagram accounts. Included in the posts was a photo of him and Sandler posing with his U.S. Open trophy, adding the caption: “What an experience
“HAPPY GILMORE 2 coming to Netflix in 2025.” Along with his post to his 2.2 million Instagram followers, the LIV Golf star was also seen posing with Happy’s iconic hockey stick putter, as well as showing an image of him standing with the behind-the-scenes crew during filming.

DeChambeau appeared to show that he will be playing some part in the movie, but nothing has been officially confirmed yet. Ever since the announcement of the return of the movie earlier this year, a whole host of big names across men’s professional golf have been linked with a part.
Six-time major champion Lee Trevino featured in the 1996 original, and there are hopes among fans that the 85-year-old will return in some capacity in 2025. Elsewhere, PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy has also been linked with a cameo, with his manager Sean OFlaherty reportedly overheard claiming at this year’s BMW PGA Championship that his client was unable to attend an event due to Happy Gilmore 2 filming – per Today’s Golfer.
DeChambeau’s name was also heavily linked, and it appears now the Crushers GC captain has confirmed his role with his latest post on social media.
