The Baltimore Ravens‘ offense is off and running in the first quarter of the wild-card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night, and as you’d expect, running back Derrick Henry has played a big part in that.
Over the Ravens’ first offensive series of the game, Henry had an electric start, with the future Hall of Famer tallying three carries for 49 yards — and one of those carries went for 34 yards that helped set up a Ravens touchdown.
And, on that 34-yard run, Henry made Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick the latest victim of one of his signature vicious stiff-arms that sent Fitzpatrick to the turf and out of Henry’s way. Check out the impressive stiff-arm below.
Was that Henry’s best stiff-arm ever?
Certainly not, as it doesn’t come close to matching when he sent former Buffalo Bills cornerback Josh Norman into orbit, or when he used former Ravens safety Earl Thomas as a lead blocker.
But that doesn’t make it any less impressive. The Steelers better figure something out quick of else it’s going to be a long night at M&T Bank Stadium.
Signed in free agency following his stint with the Tennessee Titans, Henry has been everything the Ravens could’ve hoped for, and then some. Henry finished with 1,921 yards and 18 total touchdowns.
If not for Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley having a historic year, Henry would’ve won another rushing title and first-team All-Pro nod. Instead, Henry finished second and earned a second-team All-Pro nod.
