Tyreek Hill has NFL fans scratching their heads and fantasy owners angry after being ranked No. 1 in the NFL by his peers and posting nearly 2,000 yards last season, with production this year dropping drastically.

The Miami Dolphins star has gone ten straight games without breaking 100 receiving yards and has just three touchdowns through 11 games, which is way off from his pace last season.

The Dolphins 30-17 Thanksgiving loss to the Green Bay Packers angered Dolphins fans after Hill had just four catches for 41 yards heading into the fourth quarter. He eventually scored a late 12-yard touchdown with the game’s outcome already determined.

Hill wasn’t even on the field for any of the Dolphins’ four plays inside in the five-yard line late in the fourth quarter, leaving fans confused about him and head coach Mike McDaniel. The star wideout finished the game with six catches, 81 yards, and a score.

Trailing by 16 points entering the fourth quarter, Miami mounted a late rally but fell short in Green Bay. The Dolphins first touchdown came from De’Von Achane in the third quarter, with Tua Tagovailoa connecting on a two-point conversion to Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins’ offense faded with a sack on Tagovailoa and an offensive holding penalty during a drive inside the Packers 5-yard line. After wondering why the star wideout wasn’t utilized in the most critical moments, fans went on X to voice frustrations.

Some fans blamed Tagovailoa for the drop-off, pointing at Hill’s route running and usage with his days catching passes from Patrick Mahomes. Others blamed McDaniel’s play calling and tactics, which have seen Hill’s overall targets drop.

One fan wrote, “We can’t get one vintage Tyreek Hill game all year? Just one?” Another pointed out his lack of fantasy football production and asked, “What bizarro world are we living in where Jonnu Smith is a better fantasy player than Tyreek Hill?” The opinion was shared by many other users who once depended on Hill as a first-round caliber production in Fantasy. McDaniel also faced criticism for his play-calling and Hill’s limited involvement.

“Mike McDaniel needs to be investigated for taking Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle unders,” joked another fan. A meme featuring a skeleton waiting on a bench with the caption, “Waiting for Tyreek Hill to be fantasy relevant again,” also quickly earned X recognition.

Through 11 games, Hill has tallied just 49 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 11.7 yards per catch. Compare this to the same point last season, where he racked up 76 receptions for 1,104 yards and four touchdowns at an average of 14.5 yards per catch.

Hill has also battled the decision to have wrist surgery from pain stemming from a pre-season practice against the Washington Commanders. He declined the surgery and said that he would play through the pain, with many speculating that the injury is heavily affecting his performance.
