When owners exhibited their dogs in a colorful march and appeared to be having a lot of fun, the intended event—a pet parade—turned into a depressing sight. Locals had come out to see them, but a dirty, furry puppy had also approached.

The puppy saw that other dogs had collars, caps, and people who petted them, while he surely searched daily for a scrap of food among the trash. With his head bowed and his eyes dull, the dog stared at how he was the only “rejected” person there and the only one by himself.
